Practices/Meets|Age Groups |Pentathlon 2016

In the summer of 2012, the Lionville Youth Association proudly introduced its newest sport program,Track & Field. The program is a fun, inexpensive introduction to Track & Field, as well as great pre-season training for Cross Country, Field Hockey, Soccer and other fall sports, for more experienced athletes.

LYA is currently working on the program for 2017 and will post more information and send out an email when registration is ready.

Athletes train and compete in age and skill-appropriate groups. Workouts vary during the season, and include:

  • Track Workouts
  • Hill Workouts
  • Distance Runs
  • Relays
  • Long Jump
  • Shot Put
  • Turbo-Jav

Pentathlon 2016

For our year end Pentathlon format, the athletes will compete in as many of the following events as they wish:  100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, Mile, Turbo-Jav, Long Jump, Shot Put.  Points are assigned based on the performance and scaled for age and gender.  The highest five scores for each athlete make up their Pentathlon score for year end awards – but the emphasis is on fun and learning.

Instead of participation medals this year, we will be giving out drawstring backpacks with our LYA logo on it, and Ribbons for those that complete the Pentathlon.

2017 Registration runs from April 19 through May 15.

Registration fee – still $30 per child.    Registration includes: a tee shirt, award, practices, and two track meets. Registration will be limited to ensure that each participant gets adequate attention and practice time.
